Collection: YOGA ASANAS
This is a series that emerged from deep reflexion within myself and my embodied practices.
This is an ode to the practice of Hatha Yoga, the merging of the sun and the moon, the yin and the yan, we are merging our polarities, moving our bodies towards yolking.
As a certified yoga professional I have spent countless hours studying, guiding and embodying these asanas. (The word ASANA is a sanskrit word that has its roots in what we would translated to sitting, as the world of Hatha Yoga, and many other limbs of yoga came to the west the asana roster expanded to the 108 asana poses we now know and practice).
My intention in these artistic illustrations of these powerful transformative asanas is to both inspire and create a remembrance for anyone that is witness to it. For we have all been yogis, either in this lifetime or another and there is a remembrance that happens when we are met with these images. I remember as a child I would be doing asanas spontaneously, without knowing that I was doing an ancient pose my body would just naturally move into these asanas. As my journey as a young adult started with Hatha Yoga I quickly recalled the childhood "play" that included many of these asanas, and realized that the path of yoga had always been with me.
