Collection: One line, eye gazing, contour portrait
This is an iconic project of Alejita Chuka's Art.
This project has traveled around the world and it is one of Chuka's longest living art performances. The artist has been eye gazing with her muses and drawing them with one line since 2012.
This project blends the performative aspects of the Chuka's art and their love for people and portraits. The performance develops in the interaction between the artist and the muse.
Chuka will go out into public spaces and offer portraits to the public, when someone has been caught by the intrigue of having their portrait drawn Chuka explains the premise of the art; eye gazing (holding consistent eye contact), meanwhile Chuka will draw them with one continuous line (not lifting the pen off the page, and NO LOOKING).
The result is a beautiful moment shared together and a wonderfully abstract contour portrait of the muse.
